As a farmer hired by the pharaoh, I must walk miles everyday to get to the Nile where his crops grow. I travel with his other hired farmers. often carrying seeds, plants, and tools.
The pharaoh and his vizier often are there in the morning admiring our hard work. Once we arrive, they exit and head back to the palace.
Once the crops are harvested and watered for the day, we bring them back to the palace and then, sleepily, we travel home.
I live in a small hut village with my family. The reason I farm for the pharaoh is so that I can bring food home to them. Today I brought figs and wheat.
Early in the morning, I get up and cook a meal of wheat paste. Sometimes, I pour the paste into a clay pot and I make it a flat bread over the fire. Next, I cut the figs open and set one roasting in the hot coals.
Inside, the hut is simple. There are some heiroglyphics on the wall and an empty sack for a pillow. Maybe I will sell more figs at the market to buy a better hut. The yellow eye is the king's seal. Now that the flooding season has started, I no longer have to plant and harvest! Now, I make my living catching fish from the Nile and then selling them at the market.
