  • Person vs. Person
  • Go away poor girl!
  • Person vs. Nature
  • RRRRAAAAAAAAWWWWWWRRRRRR
  • Get on the loft!
  • Person vs. Society
  • I´m going to Canada where I am safe
  • Lyddie arrives at the tavern and Mistress Cutler thinks that Lyddie is a poor homeless person and treats her badly. On page 20 the book says, ¨Go along,´ the woman was saying. ´This is a respectable tavern, no the town ship poor farm.¨ Mistress Cutler was treating Lyddie very rudely just because Lyddie looked more poor than she did. This shows that Lyddie is against Mistress Cutler since she treats her rudely. This shows Person vs. Person
  • In the beginning of the book, a bear comes in Lyddies house and Lyddie and her family try to get the bear out of the house. On page 1 the book says, ¨Don't nobody yell,´ she said softly. ¨Just back up slow and quiet to the ladder and climb up to the loft.¨ Because Lyddie is fighting against the bear and the bear is part of nature, this example shows Person vs. Nature
  • Lyddie is back at her cabin and meets Ezekiel who is a runaway slave. On Page 41 the text says, ¨Some has considered me a slave.¨ The society thinks that Ezekiel is a slave and should work for other people but Ezekiel does not agree with the society and decides to be on the run and go to Canada where there is no slavery.
