"Scout Finch's daddy defends n-slurs"
"You can just take that back boy!"
Scout overhears Atticus and Uncle Jack talking about her and the future in the current situation. This causes her to take what atticus says more seriously.
"...I just hope that Jem and Scout come to me for their answers instead of listening to the town."
Scout takes being called a coward when she doesn't fight because atticus told her not to if people called him names. She is learning responsibility and is maturing.
Calpurnia pulls scout out of dinner and into the kitchen when she openly questions Walters ways and embarrasses him. She learns to treat people with more respect and ask before assuming and being rude.
