- Vast Travler
- Odysseus was born of noble birth he was the King of Ithica. When introducing himself to King Alcinous on an island he visits Odysseus reveals that Odysseus is the son of Laertes. He also rules an isle called Ithica, which makes him a king.(Homer 1110)
- Unmatched Warrior
- He is very cunning and has a lot of wits. He is also a skillful leader. He was able to defeat and plunder Troy. He is considered to be very cunning and crafty, and he maimed the cyclops just by tricking him.(Homer 1104, 1110)
- Battles Supernatural Forces
- Odysseus traveled far and wide for ten years. In Homer's poem, it says that he visited many distant lands and men. He was harried for years on end too as an endless wanderer, which can be considered as a vast traveler, even if he wasn't the one who planned it.(Homer 1104)
- In the Odyssey, Homer mentioned how was Odysseus defeating Troy and how amazing of a warrior he was. Odysseus is called a great warrior and Athena, the Greek goddess of war comments that Odysseus is skilled in all ways contending.(Homer 1104, 1110)
- Odysseus is trapped first by Calypso, but before that, he was trapped by the cyclops. Yet, right after he got away, Posiden, the Greek god of the sea is called to make sure it is a long time before Odysseus and his men return home again.(Homer 1120)
