The Kingdom of Iolcus, once reigned by Jason was now usurped by his uncle. This caused Jason to be infuriated; willing to do whatever he can to regain his throne.
Knowing Jason would do any mission ot get the throne, Pelias sent him on "Mission Impossible," The Golden Fleece.

Exiled To Corinth!
Medea and Jason
STOP
Arriving in Colchis, the gods Athena, Hera, and Aphrodite made Medea (daughter of Aetes) fall in love with Jason. THis allowed for Jason to have an extra advantage at obtaining his treasure, and winning over his throne!
Jason successfully got the fleece with the help of Medea's magic. Upon departure, Medea completely betrayed her father, as well as she killed her own brother; leaving Colchis behind in the dust. This made the gods mad, and they refused to keep Jason, Medea, and the Argonauts safe.
Medea tricked Pelias's daughters into killing him, in hopes Jason would get the crown. Instead, this made the people of Iolcus furious, and Medea and Jason were exiled to Corinth. Later, Jason leaves Medea for the princess of Corinth, striving for any wealth and fame possible.
