- The neighbors of Mormons would prosecute them and many were offended by the mormons teachings specifically their acceptance of polyamory. After their leader Joseph Smith was killed Brigham Young took over as leader and moved the Mormons to utah in hope of being left alone to follow their faith in peace.
- But Why?
- We are gonna move west with the other Mormons.
- We are going to Utah to follow our faith in peace.
- The Mormons faced many struggles along their journey. At almost every place they stopped they had to bury a person. Often times their leader would have to remind them that their prayers are good but it wont bring them food. Because of the dry country they settled in they had to learn new ways to farm.
- We have to collect our crops before we leave Prayers wont bring us food.
- Every stop we go we bury another
- The mormons were the first settlers to settle in the dry region of Utah and salt lake city became a important stop for travelers who were in need of food and supplies. The planted their faith firmly in the Utah desert.
- Our group are the first people here
- and now we can help people who are journeying through the area.
- We can also spread our faith
