- 1796- Won a series of victories, crushed the austrian troops
- 1795- Royalist rebels marched on national convention, he guards gates
- Led expedition to egypt and his forces were defeated
- Seize political power - 1799
- Set up tax collection system, and national bank
- 1800- There was a vote giving him all real power
- 1804- Made himself emperor
- Tried to gain control of all Europe and caused many countries to go against such as Britain, Austria, Prussia, and Russia
- Only major battle lost, 1805. Spain British leader was skilled at sea fighting/ battles
