- Students today we will learn about the Transport and trade in ancient civilization
- So lets watch a movie about it now.
- Oh is it I didn't know that,well do you know that In ancient egypt boats were 6000 years old and were controlled by sails and oras
- Hey Marie do you know that as civilizations grew bigger they needed to trade with other civilizations for food and materials and water was an important method for trade in early civilizations
- Larger boats built of wood and tied together with rope travelled longer distances.They transported the large stones from aswan to help build pyramids
- Oh yes and I have heard that river was an important way for the cities of ancient egypt to be connected.
- Yes you are right,Do you know that archeologists discovered flat pieces of stone with writing on them in old towns in Mesopotamia,also the type of writing was used in the indus valley civilization.
- These things we are talking about are pretty interesting and Trade between the civilizations were important,People travelled the sea between the indus valley and arabian peninsula
- Yes even I know one last point which is the seals had images on them to show which traders they came from and this trade bought contact between ancient civilizations and their people.
- Hmm that's pretty unbelievable now i know this one last point that they were used to close seal bags or boxes of food and objects that were traded
- Yes teacher we learned a lot i think i could even write biography on it
