- Daniel(Kenny)- He is a round and dynamic Character. Many of his Charterisic can be seen throughout the entirety of the story. His thought process had also changed toward the end when it came to the mistakes he amde in his past.
- Symbol
- Julie's dad- Vengeful, Angry. Julie's dad is a flat and static character. He is somewhat known throughout the story as someone from Dan's past and does not get elaborated on. His action and opinions towards Dan never changed.
- Suspense
- The theme of the story is that the mistakes you've made in your past can follow you for a long time. Dan upload a uploaded a photo that changed his life, he's changed his name to be unseen. However, it seems his past always comes back and kenny keeps bringing it up.
- Mood
- Kenny is a symbol of guilt and worries from Dan's past mistake that is kept in his mind. So when Dan tries to forget and keep his secret, Kenny finds a way to ruin it by saying things like "[d]ude, you know you can't get away with this for long, right?"(Blout, 20). This, in turn, brings all of Dan's worries and guiltiness back. It also results in him shutting people and keeping him from having a normal life.

- Suspense can be used when Julie tries to get the gun from her father to stop him from pulling the trigger. As Dan is waiting for the gun to go off, Julie "bucked, twisted, dropped, and finally succeeded in breaking her father's grasp just as he pulled the trigger"(Blout, 272). This is important due to it being the end of the chapter as well as not knowing whether Julie has been injured or not. The uncertainty of Julie's wellbeing is very suspenseful because of her importance in the book and questioning if she lived or died
- The mood of the story was very sinister due to the many dark and brutal flashbacks and scenes within the book. During Dan's (Kenny's) Sentencing for uploading the photo, Julie's dad "Vaulted over the bar and nearly choked me during my sentencing hearing"(Blout, 61). This shows that the story has a sinister feeling due to this flashback Dan had of nearly being killed by the father of the deceased victim.
