Life of a star
Storyboard Text
- My name is Jimmy John the third. I am a star and even though I don't look like one , I will soon form into a hot ball of gas. Gravitational force will shape me into a protostar, which is the early stage of a star.
- Now that I am a protostar I will use nuclear fusion which is the process of one or more light nuclei fusing together to make a heavy nuclei. Once they have all fused I will become a main sequence star.
- If you don't know what a Main sequence star is, it is just like our sun. There are many of these on Hertzsprung-Russel diagrams.
- Now I am a Red Giant. I have a lot of mass and I am much colder than a main sequence star.
- I have blown off my outer layers and now have turned into a planetary nebula. I have run out of fuel to burn. The rings around me are made out of gas.
- A white dwarf is a very small dense star and is one of the last stages of a star. I'm transitioning from a white dwarf to a black dwarf. After I burn out I will keep my mass and will no longer emit light.
