The Industrial Revolution

- Before urbanization and the Industrial Revolution we were living on a nice big farm.
- When the Industrial revolution first started it helped up a lot when farming. The cotton gin was made so it made it easier to separate the seed from the cotton.
- Due to the Industrial revolution there was no longer help that was needed on the farm. So my family went on the road to move to the city to find work in the factories.
- When we made it to the city we had to live in tenements. The living conditions were nothing like living on the farm.
- The next day we started working in the factories. The working conditions were horrible we had to work 12-16 hours for 6 to 7 days. Many people were losing their jobs from getting injured from the machines with no safety.
- There was labor unions made to protects and make better conditions for working. There was many children getting injured and working long hours.
