  • Benjamin Banneker was born on November 9, 1731, in Baltimore County Farm 
  • Benjamin went to Nearby Quaker Country Schools
  • Ben's first job was an interviewer, he interviewed people on what they thought about slavery
  • Ben exchanged letters with president  Jefferson. He talked about slavery and how he should consider putting an end to it 
  • Ben was a professional astronomer and mathematics teacher.  During his job, he predicted a solar eclipse. 
  • Ben inherited his parent's farm
  • Ben started working on Americas first clock in 1753 and ended in 1756. The clock ran for 50 years before it was destroyed in a fire
  • He died in his log cabin nine years later on October 9, 1806, aged 74.
