Storyboard Text

  • We have a very tiny state of seventy people. 40 of them belong to the Blue Party, and 30 belong to the Red Party.
  • We need to divide this state into seven districts (Redistricting). Each district will send one representative to the House to represent the people (Reapportionment) . We want the representation to be proportional.
  • And just our luck, they live evenly with the Blues on one side of the state and the Reds on the other.
  • Because our citizens live in a neatly ordered grid, it's easy to draw seven lengthy districts three for the Reds , and four for the Blues.
  • Depending on who controls the state Government these districts could be easily Gerrymandered for a particular political party. They would just have to manipulate the shape and keep the census in mind
  • There should be ten people in each section just didn't have enough room to fit them all there.
  • This is just a proportional representation.
  • Title: Simple GerrymanderingTopic being depicted: The process of GerrymanderingGerrymandering was the most recent topic we've talked about in class I used Reapportionment, Redistricting, and Gerrymandering.I think I depicted it the way I did because it is easily represented and understood this way.
