  • Introduction
  • Adoption is a good and bad thing. It's bad because people give their children up for adoption in the first place, but it's also good because it shows that even if your first family couldn't provide for you, at least someone can.
  • Narration
  • Adoption is the establishment of a legally recognized, lifelong relationship between adoptive parents and the adoptee(s) in question.
  • Adoption - the action or fact of legally taking another's child and bringing it up as one's own, or the fact of being adopted.
  • Confirmation-Novel
  • They sent my kids to Foster care and now they're dead, you telling me that's better off? (Lady on TV)
  • Macy watches this and thinks about how Zane is probably better off now that he's with Cps even though she misses him. She also thinks about how unsafe it is in her own house and thinks the same kind of thing could happen to her
  • People that get adopted get a chance to get a brand new life.
  • Confirmation-Research
  • “Family is not defined by our genes, it is built and maintained through love.” (Amalia G.)
  • Adoption is basically stealing someones kid legally. No matter what the cause of you putting the child up for adoption is, you never get to get in contact with them ever again.
  • Concession/Refutation
  • "effective child advocacy is a challenge, given that infants and young children are unable to voice their views or promote their interests". (Elizabeth Bartholet)
  • Macy loses her brother to CPS, and she worries about him. She would much rather be with him then with her own family, but she also doesn't want to go to CPS. Macys mom doesn't help either because she doesn't even try to get Zane back, that's what really messes with Macy knowing they could do something about it but choose not to
  • Conclusion
  • Somehow destiny comes into play. These children end up with you and you end up with them. It's something quite magical. (Nicole Kidman)
  • “A mother’s love for her child is like no other love. To be able to put that feeling aside because you want the best for your child is the most unselfish thing I know.” (Mary)
  • More than 60% of children in foster care spend 2-5 years before being adopted. Some never get adopted
  • I am on the side of the kids have a choice, because if they didn't they could hate their lives and wish they would've just stayed at the orphanage or something because life would be way better there.
  • " It's not always the parents choice, the kids have their own say." (unknown)
  • He is mine in a way that he will never be hers, yet he is hers in a way that he will never be mine, and so together, we are motherhood. ( Desha Wood)
