  • The purpose of this taxes was to raise  £40,000 a year for the administration of the colonies.
  • The Townshend Act June 29 1767
  • We are going to apply taxes on glass, paint, oil, lead, paper, and tea
  • The colonists were not happy with this taxes so they started to revolt.

  • The Boston Port Act was one of the Intolerable Acts.
  • Quarenting Act June 2 1774
  • Come in, we have food and beds.
  • We are going to move in with you and you have to comfort us.
  • The quarantine act was one of the intolerable acts and it stated that the colonists had to "comfort" the British soldiers.
  • Lexington and Concord April 19, 1775
  • Now one knows who shot first if the redcoats or the minutemen
  • This event sparked the American revolution.
