- The husband proposed a compromise to his wife. And on that note, they ended up going home without the baby calf.
- I will slaughter another bull, then I will slaughter this one next year. How about it?
- NO! You will slaughter this one at once.
- Just before daybreak, the Shepard came to the husband, without the wife knowing.
- I bring you good news! I have a daughter, who is fond of soothsaying and magic. When I took the young calf home with me yesterday, she laughed and exclaimed: "this bull is the son of our master, put under the spell by the step-mother". Then, she cried and explained: "And the mother, also put under a spell was butchered by you."
- My...my.. love...my.. son...
- My dear son! I thought you were gone forever !
- The Shepard brought his master back to his home, where the young calf was, as well as the Shepard's daughter.
- Can you release my son from this wicked spell? If you do, I will give you anything.. My cattle, all my possessions.. anything.
- I do not desire your wealth, master. I have two wishes: and I will release you son. First: let me marry him. Second: let me cast a spell upon the evil step-mother, so that she may ensue no more evil.
- The Shepard's daughter filled a bowl with water, let out an oath, and said the bull:
- Bull, if you are created in the image of the All-Mighty Lord, remain in this state. Bull, if you were cast under an evil spell, return to your human form, by the will of God.
- After being tuned back into human form, the son explains everything that had happened to him and his mother, and the evils of his step-mother.
- Oh son! The great Lord sent us someone who will give her what she deserves..
- Father, I missed you so much
