- I can't believe our parents are letting us go camping by ourselves!
- Are you packed to go camping this weekend, Alice?
- Yes, I have everything packed and ready, Lisa. What about Gabriella?
- The three girls have been friends since 2nd grade. Now they're in 5th grade. It is nearing the end of the school year and this will be their last time to spend together before they go on vacation. They chose to go camping.
- They had to work very hard to convince their parents they were old enough to go camping alone. Alice, Lisa, and Gabriella checked to make sure that they were all packed and ready to go. Then, they met at Alice's house so her dad drive them to the camping site.
- Alice's dad agreed to drive the three girls to their camping site. They all thanked Alice's dad for driving them before getting out of the car.
- DAD! I think there's a wild animal outside and it woke us up! We're scared. Can you come to pick us up?
- After Gabriella, Lisa, and Alice said their goodbyes to Alice's father, they got their tents put up. After several long hours, the girls were finally able to sit and rest.
- Soon the night was drawing near and the girls gathered around to eat their meal and then they would eat their marshmallows after. It took them a really long time for them to get the fire started and controlled.
- Later that night, the girls heard a strange noise from outside their tents while they were sleeping, they quickly got up to call Alice's dad and get back home. Their parents were right, they were not ready to go camping on their own.
