- Christopher Columbus was rejected by Portugal, Genoa, and Venice. Spain thought Christopher Columbus idea was nice. They showed interest.
- Spain funded him under 3 conditions . He would spread Christianity, bring back riches, and expand their empire. Christopher Columbus was given 3 ships, Nina, Pinta, Santa Maria.
- Gold !!!
- Columbus spent 36 days sailing across the atlantic. He had 90 people join his journey. Since he was given 3 ships 30 people when on each one.
- Christopher Columbus thought he landed in the Americans but really landed in the Bahamas. He meet native people in the Bahamas. Columbus and his crew started to trade with the natives.
- When Columbus showed then his sword the were all surprised. He noticed that they were wearing gold jewelry. Since one of his conditions from the queen was to bring back riches.
- Since Christopher Columbus knew that the native people had gold he decided to leave 39 of his crew member in the island to protect it. Christopher Columbus left 39 people on the island. While they angered the native people…
