- This scene is about the time when Betty was caught by Parris and her father. She then pretended to fall into a sleep state coma for multiple day because she was scared that something would happen to her.
- Lies
- This is the scene that his confession took place. . John explains that his name is too precious for him to give up. His refusal ends up condemning him to death
- The Woman
- This scene is showing the confliction Elizabeth feels by her love for John and the distrust. Her fear and anger and anger about johns affair. She is colder to him, because as much as she loves him, his weakness towards Abigail is a major flaw in their relationship.
- The Poppet
- After Hale comes to town and declares that there is witchcraft, everything goes downhill. Once Tituba is accused of witchcraft, she accuses Sarah Good and Goody Osborn. It become a path of accusations against one another.
- After Proctor confessed to committing adultery. Danforth decided to test Elizabeth's honesty. He had Proctor and Abigail turn their backs and had Elizabeth enter the room. He asked why Elizabeth dismissed Abigail as her servant. Elizabeth said she dissatisfied them. When he asked how, Elizabeth says she thought her husband fancied Abigail. Proctor then told her that he already confessed as she is lead away.
- Cheever asks if there are any poppets in their home. Elizabeth says that she hasn't kept poppets since she was a child. Cheever mentioned poppet on the mantel and she explained that it was Mary's poppet. Cheever then found a needle in the poppet's stomach. "And what signifies a needle!", Proctor shouted. Cheever explains that Abigail Williams was stabbed in the stomach by a needle.
