Climax
A Syrian trader visits Rome and sees Constance, the emperor's daughter. When he returns to Syria he tells the Sultan about her, and that he wants to marry her. Constance is Christian and the Sultan is Muslim so he converts to Christianity for her.
Falling Action
Constance arrives in Syria, the mother of the Sultan hold a feat and kills all of Constance's companions, forcing Constance to go back to Italy. Constance ends up crashing on Northunderland and is found by a warden who lets her live in the castle. Constance is framed for a murder she never committed and is sent to King Alla, who is also a converted Christian after witnessing a miracle.
Resolution
Alla and Constance get married, while he is at war she has a son. Alla's mother changes letters sent between the couple. Constance and the child get thrown out of the castle, Alla kills his mother when he finds out what she's done.
Constance's father sends Roman Catholics to Syria. On the way back home they find Constance and take her but no one knows her identity. Alla goes to Rome to repent for killing his mother. Here he finds Marcuius, his son, and reunites with Constance.
Constance tells everyone her true identity and everyone is glad to have her back. Alla, Constance, and Marcuius move to England, but Alla dies one year later. Constance then moves back to Rome.
