- Bud and Jerry were waiting in the line for breakfast when a social worker walked in and put her hand on Bud and Said " Are you Buddy Caldwell" Bud replied "Its Bud not Buddy" then she told bud that he was gonna go to the amos family and told jerry he was gonna go with a family with 3 girls
- Chapter 4
- Bud is at the Amoses house its night and hes being beat up by the Amoses 12 year old son Todd. Todd shoved a wooden number 2 pencil up Buds nose all the way to the letter r when Mrs Amos walked in. Todd lied and said he was only trying to help Bud when beat him up Mrs. Amos believed Todd. Mr. Amos got involved and also believed Todd. and to punish him he decided take Bud to the shed in there back yard and locked him in their
- Chapter 5
- Bud is inside the shed and he is scared, he tries to get some sleep but cant. Everything inside of the shed looks grey. There is a window in the shed but its covered up by newspaper. As Bud approaches the window he hopes that the newspaper is inside so he can rip it off, luckily for him it is inside. as he starts to rip it of he sees a light coming from the Amoses house but they turn it off. When Bud turns around he notices a dark figure on the ceiling it looks like a bat. Bud doesn't want the bat to kill him so Bud kills the bat first but when he hits the bat he realizes it wasn't a bat it was a hornets nest, now Bud really has to get out of there, Bud goes to the window it isn't locked so he tries to open it it comes open and bud crawls out as fast as he can.When Bud gets out he begins planing his revenge
- Chapter 6
- Bud goes up to the kitchen window to get inside of the Amos's house, fortunately it wasn't locked so it came right open. First Bud grabs his suit case checks it and then he gets Mr. Amos's shotgun out of the way so they don't shoot him. Bud remembered that someone in the home told him that if you stick someone's hands in warm water they'll wet the bed so that's what Bud did,b he grabbed a cup and filled it with warm water and went up to Todd's room. When Bud was trying to make Todd wet his bed sticking his hands into the warm water didn't work so he just poured the water on his pj's and it worked. Now Bud was on the run.
- Bud realizes that being on the run isn't fun. His hornet bites sting and he is paranoid about being in the neighborhood because he is worried cops will see him. Buds only hope is the library. He hopes that Ms. Hill will be able to help him at the library. Buds plan is to sneak into the basement and stay the night in there. Bud notices there are giant Christmas trees next to the building. Shortly after, he realizes that the window he was planning on using to get into the basement has “big metal bars” on it. . Eventually, however, he walks towards the Christmas trees, opens his suitcase and takes out his blanket.Bud opens the suitcase and realizes right away that “someone had been fumbling with [his] things” because his blanket is folded differently than how he usually folds it. He knows that it was Mr. and Mrs. Amos, but after realizing that nothing is missing, he admits that though they are “mean old nosy folks […] you couldn’t call them thieves.”
- Bud woke up and was late if he was gonna be in line at the mission he had to start running. When he got there he was late so the man wouldn't let him in line. Right when Bud was about to get whipped by the man another man put his hand on Buds shoulder and said "Clarence, what took you so long" and then shoved him into line. The man told Bud to play it cool so he can eat food. Bud now had a fake family that had two little children, 1 boy and 1 girl. When they got inside it was really quiet and they were severing at meal. When Bud and his pretend family sat down to eat there was a bill board with a rich white family and all they were doing was talking about it. While they were eating the pretend mom took out a envelope. Inside was brown sugar and she split it between the family.
