  • The fact that Hitler was discriminating the Jews, (and pretty much everyone that wasn't blonde haired and blue eyed) caused Liesel and her household to break the law when a weak and helpless Jew when he came stumbling into their arms. At first Liesel was clueless about what was going on, but after she had one of the "filthy creatures" in her life, her eyes where opened. They were humans too.

All these facts show all the things going on in this world that we don't really bother ourselves with because it doesn't really affect us in any direct way.
