- Hello, Mr. Jones. I see that you are upset. I am here to help. Can you tell me what is going on?
- 9/10 stomach pain. Please help me.
- I am sorry to hear that. You look very uncomfortable. Can you rate your pain on a scale of 1-10 and tell me where your pain is located?

- Let me check your chart and see if I have any standing orders that I can give you pain medication. Please confirm your name and birthday.

- I see here that you are getting morphine every 1-2 hours. It has been 1.5 hours since your last dose which means we can give you some more to help with the pain you are having. Has the morphine been helping your pain?
- No allergies and thank you. My wife will be in to visit me this evening. I will update her when I find out more.
- Okay Mr. Jones. I am going to give you some more morphine to help your pain. You are not allergic to anything, correct? I am also going to let the doctor know that you are having continued pain and requiring medication often. They might come and reevaluate you or order some more tests. I will keep you updated with what I find out. Is there anyone you would like me to call and update as well for you?
- Thank you for the update. I will send my wife a message and let her know. My pain is much better now. It is only a 2/10 now.
- Hello, Mr. Jones. I wanted to let you know that the doctor ordered another CT scan for you and they will be here in about 30 mins to take you for it. You seem to be feeling better. How is your pain now?
