  • I am starving , could you please give me something to eat
  • Let me see if I can bake a cake for you
  • All these cakes are too large to be given away....I should bake a smaller one
  • When Saint Peter was moving around the world, preaching the people, he came across a cottage where lived a woman who used to bake cakes for a living
  • you are a really selfish and greedy woman. you don't deserve to be a human being.
  • As saint peter had not eaten anything the entire day, he was very hungry. He went to the woman who was baking cakes and asked her to bake a cake for him
  • I curse you you shall be a woodpecker and work hard your whole life boring food.
  • The little miser woman thought that the cake was too big to be given away. so she started making another smaller cake. But to her surprise, all the cakes she had baked were as big as the cakes she baked before. Again she was not ready to give this smaller cake to Saint Peter.

  • Saint Peter became angry. He was very hungry and the selfish woman was not ready to give him even a small cake. This behaviour of the greedy woman angered the Saint.
  • Saint Peter cursed the woman saying she was very greedy and selfish. She does not deserve to live her life as a human being. He added that God has given her food, shelter, fire to keep warm but she had become selfish for all the resources she had.
  • As soon as Saint Peter cursed the woman. Saint Peter's curse turned her into a woodpecker. she flew up to the roof through the chimney leaving all her clothes burned as black as a coal.
