- Surely this can eventually end slavery! and bring in lots of profit!

- However, Eli Whitney's invention wouldn't end slavery..

- Sadly the cotton gin did not bring down slave populations but had risen it for more work and faster profits.
- The Cotton Gin made lots of profit for land owning farmers and gradually made the fashion industry powerful with more inventions soon to come.
- Eli Whitney didn't think this would occur and it was quite a surprise.
