Storyboard Text

  • Two types of insects, their main source of food is the crops, so to prevent the insects form eating the food, humans use pesticides to kill the insects
  • The black insects, cannot fight off the pesticides and that population slowly dies out. But the orange insect is resistant to pesticides, allowing more of those insects to continue living and pass down their pesticide resisting genes to later generations.
  • The insects numbers will build back up again after a bit of time, and then another pesticide will be created.
  • Because of the insect's resistance to the pesticide, yet another one is created, which will be supposedly more effective in killing off the insects which eat the crops.
  • Once again the pesticides will kill a vast majority of the insects, except the ones that have a gene that is resistant to the pesticide. Over time, there will be the creation of what is called the 'super bug', which is a bug that is resistant to many pesticides
  • In the end, the only insects that survive are the ones that can resist the chemicals in the pesticides, creating a strong insect population that will be full of insects that are resistant to multiple pesticides, passing the gene down generations to insects which will only continue to evolve.
