- On page 142 the socs and greasers fight in a rumble. This shows how they would fight anyone at any time even if it wasn't heat of the moment.

- On page 5 the socs sad how would you like your hair cut to begin just below the chin(5). This shows how ruthless they were and would be willing to kill him for no reason.

- On page 57 johnny kills a soc to save ponyboy. This shows how the violence is unavoidable because if he didn't kill bob pony would have died and he couldn't save pony any other way.

- On page 154 ponyboy said "he was dead before he hit the ground but I knew that was what he wanted ( 154 )" This shows how violence is a theme because dally was shot but he was happy with that which is not normal.
- On page 50 Darry slapped ponyboy because he was late. That is violent because Darry slapped someone in his own family just for being home late.
- On page 60 dally sad "here- he handed us the gun and the roll of bills - is loaded(60)." This is violent because he gave two kids a gun so casually to kids witch could be used for violence.
