- This was a plan laid out by George F. Kennan in 1947 that stated that communism needed to be contained and shut down. Its goal was to isolate the issue of communism and stop its spread.

- The United States and Britain must act as one to defend the peace against the USSR.
- This was a speech given by Churchill in which he said that the USSR had made a "Iron Curtain" and that the USA and Britain had to hold the peace. They had to destroy the barrier and stop communism.

- The Truman Doctrine established that the united states would provided political, military and economic aid to democratic countries under threat by internal or threat. Specifically communist advancements.
