What are the causes of Water Pollution
Water pollution is caused when toxic substances from places such as farms, towns, and factories dissolve into the water and pollute it.
Some of the categories of water pollution include groundwater, surface water, point sources, nonpoint sources, transboundaries, and the ocean. in the ocean like where I'm at now, many areas inhabited by sealife are being covered in debris, mainly plastic, which can harm the marine life.
Categories of Water Pollution
The Most Common Types of Water Contamination
The most common types of water contamination include those of agriculture, sewage, radiation, and oil. As you can see, the ship behind me is leaking oil which will pollute the ocean and much of the marine life near it as well. But, the every day cars and trucks that we use also leak just as much if not more oil into the environment as this leak.
Water pollution can lead to many adverse effects on both human health as well as the environment. It can lead to the spread of diseases such as cholera, giardia, and typhoid, as well as causing algal bloom in aquatic environments and killing marine life.
What are the Effects of Water Pollution
With everything going on, we need to take a stand before the pollution causes irreversible damage. We have to use our voices and support the Clean Water Act to get things to change.
