  •  Vladimir Lenin (Vladimir Ilich Ulyanov) was born on April 22, 1870 in Simbirsk Russia, which is now known as Ulyanovsk, renamed in honour of Lenin. Lenin also grew up in Ulyanovsk and graduated high school ranking 1st in his class. He also went to Kazan Federal University to study law, but was expelled after 3 months. Later on he still was awarded his law degree in 1891.

  •  Lenin had very educated and cultured parents. His mother, Maria Alexandrovna Ulyanova, was the daughter of a physician, and his father, Ilya Ulyanov, was the son of a serf but became a schoolteacher.

  •  Vladimir Lenin was the third of six children. He grew up in a very loving and supportive environment and was very close to his family. Lenin was intelligent, strong, and had a devoted passion towards learning. His eldest brother Aleksander was hanged for conspiring against the czar with a revolutionary terrorist group. That on top of his father dying made Lenin the man of the house at 17. .

  •  Lenin founded the Russian Communist Revolution and developed a political ideology called leninism. He also led the Bolshevik party, and rose to prominence during the Russian Revolution in 1917. The Bolsheviks later became the communist party, which made Lenin the leader of the Soviet Union, the world's first communist state.

  •  Leninism influenced the subsequent development of communism in the Soviet Union. Lenin saw the communist party as a committed elite who had scientific understanding of history, were committed to ending capitalism and endorsing socialism instead, and were committed to attaining this power no matter what.
  • On January 21, 1924 in Gorki Russia, Vladimir Lenin had died. He was 53 years old, and died from a stroke. It started in 1922 when he had felt ill after an operation that took part of a bullet out of his neck from 1918, and recovered quickly. He had made a speech about his political testament despite being semi paralized. On March 10, 1923 he had his first stroke, which deprived him of speech. Then by January 1924 he had his final stroke in the morning, and died later that evening.
