  • French wants to trade with the Cherokee
  • I´m not sure about that.
  • Trade with us! 
  • The Cherokee sign and form a treaty with the Cherokee.
  • Okay, we will sign it.
  • We want you to sign the treaty.
  • 30 years of peace 
  • So can we have peace? 
  • Yes, i think we can. 
  • 30 years before the French and Indian war, French fur traders moved into South Carolina, because they wanted to trade with the Cherokee. The British signed a treaty with the Cherokee to prevent the Cherokee from trading with the French.
  • British offered no protection
  • The British signed a treaty with the Cherokee to Prevent The Cherokee to prevent the Cherokee from Trading with the French. The Cherokee thought that they were friends with the British and that they had equal terms. In the opposite, The British thought they were now in control of the Cherokee. 
  • Cherokee warriors felt betrayed by the British
  • Peace between the British and the Cherokee lasted 30 years, This peace was broken during the French and Indian war. the peace was even more broken when The Cherokee asked if the British could protect them. 
  • Cherokee War!
  • When the French and Indians came to attack, the Cherokee went to ask the British for Protection, but the British said they couldn't give the Cherokee protection , The Cherokee got mad because they as allies with the British expected protection but that didn't happen. After this event happened the Cherokee were feeling mad at the British so they started to do bad things to them.
  • When the french and their indian allies attacked, The Cherokee warriors, feeling cheated and betray by the brittish, took possesion of horses beloging to the brittish settlers. After this action, brittish seterlers attacked and cherokee retaliated. 
  • The Cherokee war lasted 2 years and resulted in many deaths for the Cherokee. the royal governor of south Carolina tried to control the situation with the Cherokee by stooping all trade and by taking Cherokee peace representatives as hostages but nothing worked. at the end, the treaty that ended the french and Indian war forced the Cherokee to give up much of  their land and created a boundary dividing the South Carolina colony and the Cherokee territory .
