Storyboard Text

  • Tush, tush, 'twil not appear
  • Peace, break thee off. Look where it comes again.
  • They inform him that there is a ghost that appears at the same time at night. He says he doesn´t believe it and that it doesn´t really happen. He says that the ghost wont appear that its not real and they´re crazy.
  • Good Hamlet, cast thy nighted color off, And let thine eye look like a friend on Denmark.
  • He says look its coming. They can see the ghost starting to appear as it always does at the same time. They then say that it appears to be the ghost of king Hamlet from the way it looks.
  • But to perserver in obstinate condolemnet is a course of impious stubbornness. Tis unmanly greif.
  • They see the ghost and they get scared. Horatio especially is in shock because he did not believe them and thought it was fake until he saw it for himself. Now him and the other guards are scared.
  • They are telling Hamlet to basically get over it and move on.  He doesn´t need to be sad for so long. His mother tells him to stop wearing black and to stop being sad for the image of denmark.
  • Here Claudius tell Hamlet to get over it because it is part of life. That it is normal for people to die and everyone should just get over it and move on. He says the was he is acting is unmanly and to stop being stubborn. 
  • They leave and Hamlet is left alone. Here is where he has his first siloloque. He expresses how he is feeling and how he does not like how things are and how everyone is acting like nothing happend.
