Storyboard Text
- A major storm caused by Zeus brought Odysseus and his men to the island of the "Lotus-eaters." While there, some people give his men the intoxicating fruit of the Lotus. This fruit has many negative effects on the men. Once consumed, the men forgot all the details of their journey and home.
- Although conflicted, Odysseus tied his men to the boat and resumed their journey. After a long night sailing, the men ended up at a new island, the land of Cyclops. They decided to explore the land in search for food and water. There they found a cave.
- In the cave, they find an angry and uncivilized Cyclops. At first, Cyclops remained quiet but became hostile and angry. Polyphemus then took a large rock and blocked the entrance, preventing them from leaving. While trapped, the cyclops began devouring two of Odysseus' men.
- My real name is Odysseus!
- Odysseus took it upon himself to lead the men out of the cave. Odysseus conspired the plan to intoxicate the cyclops with the sweet wine he had possessed. After passed out, Odysseus took a large spear and gouged the cyclops only eye. As a result, Cyclops was blind and angry.
- Injured Polyphemus was sent into a blind rage. Odysseus saw this as the perfect opportunity to escape. He instructed his men to tie themselves onto the rams/sheep within the cave. Doing this would allow them to escape unnoticed. Luckily, when releasing the cattle, they all escaped right under the cyclops nose.
- Untying themselves from the rams, they fled onto the ship and set up the sail. While escaping, Odysseus shouted his true identity. The cyclops learned the true name of the alleged "Noman." In the end, the men escaped successfully never to see the land again.
