- Elizabeth and John Proctor are arguing about Why John is late home. Elizabeth finds out that John didn't even go to Salem that day.
- John asks where mary warren is and Elizabeth tells him that she is in court and that she has been there all day. Then Elizabeth tells john that there are 14 people in jail and that he needs to go tell the court what Abigail said and that it is all just a hoax.
- John tells Elizabeth that he has no proof of what Abigail said because there was no one else in the room except for them. Elizabeth gets angry and starts yelling and says that he had lied to her once again. he said that she is always making him feel guilty and she said that it was just his heart making him feel this way.
- John grabs Mary Warren by the cloak and shakes her when she walked in the door. He got mad because she was not home to help Elizabeth with the house and doing her chores like she is told to do.
- John Proctor questions Mary warren on where she was and why she was not home to help Elizabeth with the house. Mary warren hands Elizabeth a poppet.
- Elizabeth gets arrested and John proctor yells at Ezekiel Cheever saying that he is not arresting Elizabeth and she is not going to jail. Elizabeth is crying because she doesn't want to go to jail.
