  • Protein Synthesis AnalogyBy: Emily AguirreAnatomy & Physiology 2B
  • The library is the nucleus which contains the recipe book (DNA). The process of transcription occurs by copying the instructions on how to make a salad to a journal.
  • The journal (mRNA) leaves the library (nucleus) and arrives to the kitchen (cytoplasm). If the wrong instructions were copied over, then the result would be a mutation.
  • Delicious dinner!
  • The eyes (rRNA) forms part of chef mom (ribosome) in helping with reading the journal (mRNA). The process of translation occurs by the daughter's hands (tRNA) transferring the ingredients (amino acids) to her chef mom (ribosome) for making the salad.
  • In the mixing bowl, the multitude of ingredients added creates a growing protein chain. Once, the growing protein chain is completed, then the salad (protein) is created.
  • The salad (protein) created expresses traits and its traits can be represented through the flavor the salad brings.
