Storyboard Description

When the British first realized that the colonists were resenting their taxes, they opposed with more acts, such as the Quartering Acts. This meant the British soldiers could go to a colonists' house, and force them to let the soldiers into their house. The colonists also had to take care of the soldiers, and the soldiers were allowed to treat the colonists as bad as they wanted. This cartoon is supposed to show how bad the colonists were treated, and some examples of what the British soldiers did to them.

Storyboard Text

  • The Quartering Acts were terrible things that the British government was doing.  They were allowed by law to go inside colonists' houses and live there, and treat the colonists badly.
  • That was yummy!  Now time for some seconds.
  • Well, I ran out of food trying to feed you.
  • OK, OK!  I'll go make some more.
  • What do you mean you don't have seconds?!
  • This isn't fair at all!
  • I'm sick of it!
  • Now I can't afford to live!
  • I'm quite hungry!
  • Well, you colonists kind of deserved it.
  • This isn't good at all.
  • It's time we do something about this.
