- The narrator could see the the piles of plates, cups, bottle, jar, tomato, pies, butter etc , felt that the things soon become exciting.

- Both started packing in cheerful natureAccording to narrator they are the worst packer in the world
- George stepped on the butter and got the butter off his slipper, but it wouldn't go in and what was in wouldn't come out. At last they dragged it all out and put it down the chairHarris sat on it and stuck to him
- The narrator thinking was right as they started breaking cups. Harris packed the strawberry jam on the top of the tomato and pies, and squashed it.

- He put his leg into the jam and pretended that the lemons were rats, and got into the hamper and killed three of them
