Storyboard Text

  • This ball was at rest but when I kick it, it will go into motion, until gravity pulls it down into the goal.
  • Newton's first law of motion says that an object at rest will stay at rest and an object in motion will stay in motion unless either is acted upon by a force.
  • This ball is at rest and is staying at rest because I am not kicking or acting on it.
  • The box is big and heavy so it is hard to push and moves very slowly (low acceleration) when I push it.
  • Newton's second law of motion states that the force of an object is equal to the objects mass times the objects acceleration.
  •  This box is small and a lot easier to move because it's weight is low giving it high acceleration when I push it.
  • Newton's third law of motion is that for every action there is an opposite and equal reaction, and that forces come in pairs.
  • When I shot this cannon the cannonball shot out with enough force to make the cannon rebound back towards me because the action of the cannonball has the opposite and equal reaction of the cannon.
