- You should ask for 200 pounds, so that you can pay off the house, but we know it doesn't work

- Sergeant Major Morris tells a story about his monkey paw, and he got three wishes and they came true. He also warns the White family that there are extreme consequences with every wish. He was going to burn it, but Mr. White asked for it.
- Falling Action

- The White family joked about the monkey's paw all night until the dad wished for the 200 pounds, and they got it. Their son died which is how they got the money, but then the wife thinks they can revive him by asking for a wish from the monkey's paw.
- Resolution
- Knocking ceases
- The husband forcefully wishes for their son's resurrection and they hear knocking at the door immediately after they wish for it.

- The wife can't wait to see the son, but Mr. White is worried because he doesn't know what will be unveiled behind that door.
