- Queen Elizabeth died in 1603 with no hier, so James I becomes king. He starts conflict with parliament over religion, power and money issues. He also believed in Devine Right of Kings. James I son, Charles I, also believed in Devine Right of Kings.
- Charles I continues the conflict with Parliament. Parliament tries to take his power away, Petition of Power. This start The Civil War, where now they have Roundheads vs Claviers going against each other. The Round heads support parliament and the Cavaliers supported the king. Parliament ended up winning.
- Oliver Cromwell now comes into picture. Cromwell was the leader of the Parliament Army. During this time Charles I was the first King to be beheaded. Cromwell continues to work with parliament. He eventually get tired and starts his on dictatorship military. He also abolished the monarchy. Cromwell eventually dies and the army restores the monarchy (Charles II).
- Charles II is now king. He was probably the calmest out of all of them. He was not like his dad and granddad. He did not believe in the Devine Right of Kings and does not cause issues with Parliament. Charles also restores the Monarchy.
- James II, Charles II brother, takes over the throne after Charles death. James in openly Catholic which causes a little controversy with Parliament. Parliament is worried that they now have a Catholic king, considering that most of England it protestant. Since they don't want a Catholic king they invite William of Orange from the Netherlands to take over. Since James had no support from England not to be kicked out the throne, he flees to France and gets deserted by his soldiers.
- William and Mary (William's wife & Jame's daughter), accept the offer of the throne. He and Mary make the Bill of Rights together. William also manages to turn England into a Constitutional Monarchy. Parliament and the Monarchy work together and destroy the Devine Right of Kings.
