Photosynthesis is when plants take in the CO2 (we breathe out) added with water and combine it with the sunlight/ light energy to create oxygen which it releases which we breathe in to use in cellular respiration, and it also makes glucose. This occurs in the leaves of plants in the chloroplast.
The equation is 6CO2 + 6H2O → C6H12O6 + 6O2.
I was Watching Min and Toby and they mentione photosynthesis, cellular respiration, fermentation,active transport an passive transport. Can you expain?
Cellular respiration is when animals take in oxygen (O2) and glucose (C6H12O6 + 6O2) chemically combine to create energy for the body. The products are (Carbon dioxide) 6CO2 + (Water)6H2O + 36 ATP (energy). The products for cellular respiration are the reactants for photosynthesis.
The equation is C6H12O6 + 6O2 → 6CO2 + 6H20 + 36 ATP
The euation for the Alcoholic fermentaion idC6H12O6 → Ethanol + 2 CO + 2 ATP
There are 2 types of Fermentation: Alcoholic Fermentation & Lactic Acid Fermentation (LAF). Both occur without oxygen and are anaerobic respiration. The first type of fermentation is Alcoholic fermentation. This occurs in yeast, the recant is glucose (C6H12O6) This is because the yeast eats the sugar creating the products of ethanol + CO2 + 2 ATP. The carbon is what makes dough rise.
Lactic acid fermentation aka LAF is the other anaerobic respiration. LAF occurs in muscles. When the muscle runs out of oxygen it resorts to LAF. That's why you get a burning sensation in your muscles when you work out too much. It's a buildup of lactic acid. The reactants are Glucose (C6H12O6). The products are Lactic acid + 2 ATP.
C6H12O6 --> Lactic acid + 2 ATP
Active transport is when the transportation of molecules and such need energy. There are 3 types P.E.E. P for Pump; solutes through protines, E for Endocytosis; moves into the cell, E for Exocytosis; Moves out of cell. This transport is low to high. It goes against the concentration gradient.
Unlike active transport, passive transport doesn’t need energy for transportation. The different types of passive transport is D.O.F. The D is for diffusion; its soultes, O for osmosis; where water moves and F for facilitates diffusion; Moves through protein. All of these are from High to low
