The immune system's three lines of defence that fight off the disease
The first line of defence are the surface barriers that prevent the entry of pathogens into the body.
What are the lines of defence?
What happens if the pathogen enter the body?
If they are able to enter the body, the second line of defence becomes active. Through steps called immune response. The immune system attacks those pathogens.
What does the third line of defence do ?
The third line of defence are specific lymphocytes that produce antibodies as part as the adaptive immune response.
The aim of the immune system is to identify and defend from viruses, bacteria and other pathogens.
So the reason for the immune system is to protect your body from harmful cells and germs.
