At the mall, Clara Clay leaves her friend Dahlia because of her loss of mood from the recent death of her adopted Chinese sister, Lola.
Clara stumbles into a clothing shop and looks at a purse. She finds a letter and a photograph inside from a young Chinese laborer, Yuming, who made the purse and is held captive in a pink factory.
The Clay family goes to China to visit Lola's hometown while grieving. Clara takes advantage of the situation to rescue Yuming and the other workers.
While Clara is on the way to China, Yuming escapes with her worker friends during lunch time and cuts their hair in the bathroom, then climbs out of bathroom window, and runs to the city to ask for help.
Clara stays with her family to explore the Great Wall, secretly searching for the pink building, unaware that Yuming is there with her friends running.
Clara hears that the factory has been found. Clara is at the Mo Li Hua Fountain, where the picture was took, and puts photograph on the fountain for Yuming. She sees two girls (Yuming with her friends) and spreads Lolas ashes in the fountain, where Lola was adopted.
