- The first style of architecture was prehistoric, they made mounds and henge's, the prehistoric style of acrchitecture is considered the birth of architecture, one famous example of prehistoric architecture is Stonehenge in England.
- Pantheon, Italy
- Ancient Egyptians used mud to build there homes, Egyptians used limestone and granite to build the pyramids, Builders in Ancient Egypt used columns to support there structures.
- Gothic Architecture
- The Doric column was developed in Ancient Greece and it was used for big temples, Ionic columns where used for small temples and building interiors.
- Leaning tower of Pisa, italy
- Romans borrowed heavily from the Greek styles but the Roman styles where more elaborate than the greek styles they used Cohrtahnian and composite columns and decorative brackets, After the invention of concrete allowed the romans to build arches, domes and vaults.
- Has elements that supported more graceful architecture, flying buttresses, Gargoyles, ribbed vaulting, and stained glass could be on walls that weren't being used to support the ceiling. Gothic architecture started in France when builders began to adapt the Romanesque style of architecture, the builders were also influenced by Moorish Architecture from Spain, Gothic architecture and was originally known as the French Style.

In this book Pallado explained how classical rules could be used not just for Grand temples but also for private villas.
