- ¨...but cold soaking torrents of rain, streaming down her face, icicling rivulets down her chest and legs. She was obliged, reluctantly, to stop in the next village and seek shelter for the night. Pg 47

- Lyddie is traveling south and it starts pouring rain and she needs shelter. The nature of this situation is causing her trouble.
- Lyddie and Amelia are arguing over Diana Goss because Lyddie says she is nice but Amelia is warning her not to trust Diana. This shows character vs. character because they are two people arguing.
- There is someone in Lyddies how and she thinks to herself about the bear. This is character vs. self because she is thinking about all of this to herself and how it relates to the bear.
