- 4) Paul does some research about criminal John, who has just arrived at the prison, and learns that he raped and murdered two young girls. 5) Guards discovered a mouse in the Green Mile and name him Steamboat Willy. 6) Paul learns that a new criminal is coming to the prison. 7) John Coffey calls Paul to his cell and grabs him by the groin and the urinary infection that Paul has been suffering disappears. 8) While walking on the Green Mile, Percy sees Mr Jingles and stomps on him, and kills him instantly. John tells Paul to take the body to him and brings back the mouse to life.
- 1) The main character Paul Edgecomb works in a prison named State Penitentiary’s, ColdMountain, death row. Paul currently lives in a retirement home and he writes about the events he spent on the ‘’Green Mile’’. 2) Paul also works as a guard in wand which is known for the famous electric chair ‘’Old Sparky’’.
- CLIMAX
- 3) The Story begins when a criminal named ‘’John Coffey’’ came to death row, Paul has been suffering from a disease named ‘’urinary infection’’.
- FALLING ACTION
- 9) Paul tells Percy that Percy himself is upfront to Del's execution, and Percy replaces the wet sponge with a dry sponge causing Del to die in pain and burn alive. 10) Paul had a dream about John allegedly raping and killing two young girls and finds out that John is innocent. 11) After the guards see the resurrection of the dead mouse, the guards come together and make a plan that they can make the tumor disappear inside Moores’s wife by John’s ability. While the guards trying to leave the prison with John to rescue Moores’s wife, WildBill pulls John’s arm and John suddenly remembers that Wild Bill killed and raped two young girls.
- RESOLUTION
- 12) When the guards come to Moores’s house, John kisses his wife and takes the tumor inside his wife. John coughs so badly that they think he was dying.
- 13) The guards hurry up and take John to the Green Mile. 14) John transfers all of the sicknesses that he got from Moores’s wife to Percy. 15) After that Percy grabs up his gun and shoots Wild Bill. When all of those events happening Paul already knows that John was innocent, Paul tells him that he can help John to prove his innocence but John says he wants to die.
- 16) Paul and his friends sadly watch John's execution. After that, the story goes to the present time when Paul’s friend Elaine reads what Paul has written the story about the Green Mile. 17) They walk together to the shed where Mr Jingles was dead, remembering the old days about his work. 18) The book keeps up to when Paul’s wife has died and Paul looking far away from imagining the silhouette of John Coffey in the distance of where his wife died.
