- The narrator and his son go to Sunny Vale, Jo Jo's place. Nigel drives while the narrator is in the passenger seat.
- The narrator is introduced to Poliare by Jo Jo. Jo Jo wears a fake moustache and takes it off.
- A man in fatigues carrying a shotgun on his waist chokes the narrators windpipe with his forearm.
