- AHH what is happening to us?
- Have you never been through this process before? We are starting to condense, and then we will fall as precipitation. Be prepared, this cycle is miserable.
- We were pulled down by gravity on the soil, but now we are in the soil. We have turned into ground water because we are underground droplets of water. I am stuck in a little ditch in the soil. I need you to figure out the next steps in the water cycle, so you will be able to identify what is happening to you when you are alone. Right now, you are filtering into a lake as discharge. You will have to continue this journey without me, but I will return to the clouds again soon.
- WAIT! How am I supposed to know what is happening to me?
- Ok, I know that I am now in a lake. Wait, am I being consumed by a deer? AHH I knew something felt off. Was this really a necessary step in the water cycle.
- I was just excreted onto the soil. This time I was not ground water. I knew I was something different. I was just a droplet of water on top of the soil.
- I could feel another change happening to me. I was being absorbed by a plant. This process was no fun, but I knew it would be over soon. I hope I get to see the other water droplets soon, I thought to my self. After I was absorbed by the plants, I started to get transported to the clouds again!
- I was back in the clouds! These other clouds were not my friends though they were strangers.
