  • If I meet you see a person who comes from a slum area my first thought would be that the guy is not well dressed not well-groomed his language is not going to be proper it is going to be full of thanks because of these stereotypes of this Li getting a job on admission into college is going to be very difficult for them because people have a preconceived notion that they are not the right people to employ
  • REPORTER: This is Mumbai the largest city in India which has the highest number of millionaires and billionaires in the country
  • SCENE 4: PERSON 2
  • I feel that isolation is a big thing they get really isolated at times and we isolate them that is the main thing we should not do yeah they might be a lot of differences between us and them but they are human beings in the end.

  • SCENE 5: PERSON 3
  • Basically, the Indian society has the perception that they live in very dirty conditions like they do not wash their clothes and wear the same clothes three days straight some people try to keep their distance from the slum people. If you are from the slums we can talk with each other because if I talk to you something might bad happen to me. Most probably they will steal stuff sometimes they may snatch purses and run away if I am sitting here with my phone they might start and run away if I am not paying attention.
  • REPORTER: What kind of stereotypes are there of people living in the slums
  • SCENE 6: PERSON 4
  • People don't interact with them much like we found two boys selling books why would we buy books from the people who don't have time for them there is definitely a wealth gap in India because the rich get richer and the poor get poorer
