- In this scene Johnny and Ponyboy are runnning away from some of the Socs. Johnny and Ponyboy decided to go on a walk to the park and a blue mustang was following them and they knew they were in for a bumpy ride, and started running from the car.
- In this scene the Socs catch up to Johnny and Ponyboy when they reach the fountain. Two Socs get out of the car and aproach Johnny and Ponyboy, one Socs pinned Ponyboy against the fountain and gave him a good dunk in the fountain. While Ponyboy was getting dunked the other Socs was getting closer and closer to Johnny, about to atack him.
- This scene shows after Ponyboy was dunked by a Soc and he was knocked out after being so, so close to being drowned. When the Socs was getting closer, and closer to Johnny he didn't want to get jumped so he pulled out his switch blade and stabbed the Soc in self defence and killed the Soc. Bob, the handsome Soc, was lying there in the moonlight, doubled up and still. "A dark pool was growing from him, spreading slowly over the blue white cement." (Page 49)
